Voluntary Board Members – Recruitment

Ore Valley Housing Association was established in Cardenden in 1992; it now operates across central Fife providing in excess of 800 homes and currently employs 21 staff members.

We are seeking to recruit volunteers to join our Board of Management, which meets nine times per annum (one evening per month excluding January, April and July). Meetings last approximately 2 hours.

The values which guide the development and delivery of everything we do are based on respect, fairness and equality and we would welcome applications from anyone with an interest in supporting our work.

The Board has recently refreshed its overall strategy and plans are being developed around the following strategic priorities.

  • Equality and Social Justice
  • Housing Quality
  • The Environment
  • Sustainability
  • Service Improvement

The Association is involved in various projects beyond housing including community regeneration, renewable energy, sustainability and commercial real estate.

We are looking for new Board members to help us to meet the challenges ahead. We will consider applications from anyone with an interest in our work and in joining our Board and, although not essential, we are interested in meeting a broad spectrum of people and in particular anyone with experience in the following areas:-

●    Human Resource.
●    Equality and Diversity Issues.
●    Housing – including operation, maintenance or construction.
●    Finance.
●    Law.
●    Regulatory frameworks.
●    Community engagement.
●    Net Zero and sustainability.
●    Health and Social Care.

You will join an existing Board of committed and welcoming individuals; you will have access to training and development opportunities and have the opportunity to work with fellow Board Members and staff to make a real difference within the communities with whom we work.

As a volunteer we can cover any out-of-pocket expenses.
