Voluntary Board Members – Recruitment

Ore Valley Housing Association was established in Cardenden in Fife in 1992. It now operates across central Fife providing 815 homes and employs 21 staff members. Our historical heart lies in former mining communities that have seen considerable challenges since the closure of the coal industry.

We are seeking to recruit volunteers to join our Board which meets invariably one evening per month on Tuesdays.
The vision, mission and values which guide the development and delivery of everything we do are based on respect, fairness and equality and we would welcome applications from anyone with an interest in supporting our work. Details of these are outlined below:

Ore Valley Housing Association is currently working towards regulatory compliance and seeks to recruit board members with experience of the following areas of activity:

Primary area of activity -
1. Governance, legal and regulatory compliance – ideally with experience of corporate governance, regulatory frameworks, legal compliance, organisational improvement and change management, including supporting organisations through periods of transformation and improvement. Preferably with experience in, or a strong understanding of, the Registered Social Landlord (RSL) sector.

Secondary areas of activity -
2. Digital transformation and cyber security – expertise in digital strategy, information security, cyber resilience, IT governance and business continuity.
3. Finance and financial governance – senior-level financial management, financial scrutiny, risk management and strategic financial planning.
4. Tenant representation and engagement – experience or understanding of tenant priorities, customer engagement, service delivery and accountability to communities.

Of greatest importance is that you share our values and a commitment to supporting us to deliver our strategic objectives.

You will join an existing Board of committed and welcoming individuals; you will have access to training and development opportunities and have the opportunity to work with fellow Board Members and staff to make a real difference within the communities with whom we work.

As a volunteer we can cover any out-of-pocket expenses you incur.
