Ore Valley Housing Association (OVHA) has been developing a number of renewable energy projects aimed at delivering direct benefit to three towns in Fife. OVHA seeks to develop large-scale wind turbines in the environs of Cardenden, Leven and Kennoway which will deliver significant carbon savings as well as revenue for local improvements and regeneration. All the profits generated by the wind turbines will be split between OVHA and a community-led energy company that will determine where and when the revenues will be spent. OVHA will utilise their share to improve social housing provision in the respective project areas. The wind turbine projects are at an advanced stage of development and OVHA seeks to raise the profile of these activities with local residents by staging a number of public open days. The aim will be to introduce the concept of community energy project ownership, outline the development details and the benefits of wind power as well as answer questions raised by members of the public. A series of one hour events have been planned for June which will be free and open to all to attend June 23rd— Caledonian Hotel, 81 High Street, Leven 2pm to 3pm and 6pm to 7pm June 24th— British Legion, The Cross, Kennoway 2pm to 3pm and 6pm to 7pm June 25th— Bowhill Centre, 145 Station Road, Cardenden 2pm to 3pm and 6pm to 7pm |
